Tuition fee and payment terms for the academic year 2024/2025

Specification for the pricelist year 2024/2025

The academic school year is August 1st to July 31rd and the tuition for an academic year is for all 12 months. We provide sibling moderation, ie full tuition payment for the first child, less for the second child and third child.

In addition to the monthly tuition payment, additional expenses for any instrument rental, most class trips, etc. should be expected.

In connection with payment for afternoon care and Activity Club, the full price is paid for the first child and less for the subsequent ones.

! Please notice that there is a difference in school fees for children not having a CPR number as well as enrolling after the 5th September, which is the cut-date for the state-grant for the school year. Read the details in the pricelist and payment terms.

• An application fee to be registered on the waitlist: 250 DKK (non-refundable).

• Annual administration fee for staying on the waiting list: DKK 250.

• Enrollment fee: DKK 5.000 no later than May 1st of the year the child starts school.

• If paying per month, a pre-payment of school fee DKK 11.000 per pupil is to be paid before June 1st the year the child starts school. The deposit is deducted from the school fees during the last three months of payment when leaving the school.

 

Once a student is admitted the school will send invoices.

• Support Association (Parents Committee): DKK 250 p.a. per family

• Class Money: DKK 400 p.a. per child

Please notice:
We do not distinguish between the beginning or the end of the month e.g. if a child starts on the 10th of April and the school year ends on the 21st of June, the tuition fee is three months.

School fees for children registered during the period from the 1st to the 20th day of the month are charged for the whole month. School fees for children registered after the 20th day of the month are charged form the 1st day of the following month.

The right to increase prices is reserved. Adjustments to the above fees shall be notified with no less than three months’ notice to the end of the month. The current school fees are always available at www.byenssteinerskole.dk/en.

Subject to receipt of a completed Notice of Withdrawal, three full calendar months in advance. All fees will be charged to the end of the three-month period regardless of the attendance of the child and the payment method chosen.

The deposit is deducted from the school fees during the last three months of payment when leaving the school.

If you have decided to withdraw your child from the Waldorf International School Copenhagen we ask that you inform the class teacher, and that you fill out this form with the students information.

Byens Steinerskole has two types of programs where you can apply for a subsidy or a full or partial free place:

First scheme: Application for support from Fordelingssekretariatet

The Danish Finance Act allocates funds for subsidies for school fees and after-school program fees.

Subsidies for after-school program fees are only available for children in grades 0-3.

Fordelingssekretariatet makes a limited amount of money available as a subsidy to reduce school fees. The funds are distributed based on the application and parents’ income basis. The application form is handed out to all parents at the beginning of the school year.

The deadline for applying for this scheme is the 25th of August each year, and you apply for one school year at a time. The application is submitted at the start of the school year After this date, applications can no longer be submitted for that school year.

Parents can apply for financial support based on the parent’s income base, calculated based on the income for the calendar year preceding the year in which the school year begins.

Only biological parents must be listed on the application. If a student has half-siblings for whom an accessible place is also requested, an application must be completed for each student.

If the parents are married to each other or have a joint registered address or joint residence, both parents must complete and sign the application form.

If the parents are divorced, separated, or not married to each other and do not have a joint civil registration address or residence, the application form must only be completed and signed by

The parent who has full custody of the child

or

The parent at whose address the student is registered in the National Population Register if the parents have joint custody.

In other words, if the parents have joint custody, both parents’ signatures are only required if the parents live together or are married to each other.

The Fordelingssekretariatet sets the criteria and administers free places for independent schools.

If the Fordelingssekretariatet assesses that you are eligible for a subsidy, it will be paid to the school in December.
Please note that the subsidy amount is not received from Fordelingssekretariatet until the end of December in the year applied for, and therefore a reduction in the school fee collection can only be made from January to June.

The application must reach the school by the 25th of August. After that date, no further applications can be made for the 2022/23 school year. Be aware that the school receives the grant from Fordelingssekretariatet at the end of December. The school fee deducted from the school year will be paid out in the period from January to May, 6 months in total.

Second scheme: Extraordinary reduction/exemption of school fees

In addition to the possibility of applying for a subsidy from the Fordelingssekretariatet, the board has decided to allocate an amount in the budget for a temporary reduction in school fees to help families affected by a social event, such as job loss, serious illness, divorce and the like, and where the family’s financial situation is strained. These free places are limited in number.

The duration of the reduction or exemption of school fees is generally 3 to 6 months. In special cases, one school year at a time.

The extraordinary free place scheme is always granted prospectively and at the earliest from the next 1st of the month after the application has been processed.

You can apply after 15 August and the grant is valid for the school year you apply for.

The grant is awarded by the chairperson, treasurer, and school principal jointly following a request/application from parents to the school principal.

To be considered, a written application with documentation of the family’s financial situation, annual statement, or similar must be submitted to the school office. The head of the school will then present the application anonymously to the board’s chairperson and treasurer, who will decide on the application based on the specific situation and the school’s financial situation.
